Jillian found her 3 eggs very quickly. We then took them out of the basket and "hid" them again.
She was very determined and serious during the egg hunt.
Something about all the adult feet/legs in this picture makes me laugh. Is this glimpse of her view during large family events?!
Landon found his eggs. This particular egg was the "resurrection" egg. It was empty, to represent the empty tomb on Easter, and the person who found it was deserving of a special prize. Landon, who knows about the empty tomb story, was not impressed by the empty egg. He opened it up, said "There's nothin' in it!" threw it down, and started to look for other eggs. The symbolic message of the egg was lost on a two-year-old.
Here's Landon telling me about his eggs, and his followers, who helped him find his eggs. He was quite happy to simply follow their pointing, rather than really put effort in on his own.
Jillian finding her eggs.....again!
Stella, the giant and dumb dog, licked all over Jillian's face. Jillian just stood there, pouting, and then started crying. Can't you see the disgust and hurt feelings all over her face??!!
Tried to get a picture of the kids together, with their Easter baskets. You know, a cute sibling picture. But Jillian was so enthralled with her eggs that she wouldn't look at the camera. And Landon would only look up confused. So this is the best I got. Including the random neighbor kid's legs.
Since she wouldn't look up, I tried to get him to give her a kiss on the head. What a sweet picture it would have made. Instead, the delay on the camera only got the before of the split-second affection.
These are my dad's parents. My grandfather is 90!!!
We try.
